Hidden folders

CPU/Ram: 3 GIG

When i try to open my documents and my pictures on my desktop the search results pops up. I have to click on search to see the files. I have tried to click on show hidden files in the folder options box but it doesn't stay and goes right back to "do not show hidden files. I went into the registry and changed hidden to option 1 also but still nothing changed. Please advise...

Click Start, then RUN, then type
regsvr32 /i shell32
Note the space between 2 and /, & i and s
