Specs: WinXPSP2 Russian, 2.26Ghz, 256MB
In the D:\ drive where the I installed second OS windowsXP appeared two big files. one of these pagefile.sys-393MB, other is Hiberfil.sys-261 MB. The first file is the windows system file, i know it. but second one is unknown me. what is the file? I never saw it before. can I delete it?

For information, previously i installed here windows XP-eng without SP. but it locked after one month due to aktivization problem. I deleted this windows folder manually (and did not format my D: drive) through win98 and installed winXP-rus with SP2. Now it appeares 3 line during the loadind OS. 2 of them winXP, one - win98. first line (winXP) works, when i choose 2nd line (also winXP) the system becomes frozen. 3rd line win98 also work.
second question is how one can do that the 2nd line with winXP loading which doesnt work disappered?

If you enable hibernation in Windows, then a file called Hiberfil.sys appears to hold the contents of RAM in case Windows enters into hibernation.

You can enable / disable hibernation in Power Options in Control Panel.
