Hello,
Is there a diffrence between hi speed dial up then dsl? The reson i ask is im now paying for the dsl, i have a choice to switch to hi speed dial up that will be cheaper but im not sure if its as fast as my dsl. Thank you for helping me. Have a nice day.
Lda

I just switched from Netzero high speed dial-up to DSL. Believe me there is no comparison!Downloads with the dial-up were 4-5 kb/sec, with DSL they are 188kb/sec. For the "high speed dial-up", pictures are loaded at a reduced resolution and quality, to speed things up. There is just no comparision. I will never go back

The fastest you will get with dial up is 56kbs. The slowest DSL connection I have seen has been 125kbs. More normally it is 515kbs and these days 1 or 2 Mbs is becoming more common. Thats is millions of bits per second where the other are only thousands of bits per second.
Stick with the DSL. It my be a little more expensive but it is a hell of lot faster. No comparison with dial up.

Do not go with the dial up unless you just have to. And you should check around to see what combination internet/cable/phone subscriptions are available in your area. I switched over from paying single companies 2 years ago to one overall supplier. I get phone with same # all the add-ons,10 cent long distance and expanded cable for TV plus a 4.0mb/s high speed internet service for total cost(taxes, too) of $118.00 monthly. I was paying almost that just for the movie channels pror to changing. And they have great service.will never go back.
