You have to have 2 things. A photo editing program like Picasa Free or Photo Story which is also free. There you can put all the photos in one folder and make them into a slideshow. You can then add some music. Then save the slideshow as a wmv.

Then you will need a movie making software...I use Showbiz 2 that came bundled with my external HP DVD burner. Then you import that wmv file to the movie making software and burn it to a DVD.

Now you have a slideshow with music.

You sound like you are new to PC's so I would suggest you do much more research into this and it will work for you.

The op didn't say she wanted free software, they just said they wanted to add music to the slideshow. Yes PTE isn't free but its a great program.

sorry, I misunderstood that, no problem...The ones I mentioned are the best free ones I know and also use myself when doing wedding and beach photography in the summer.

The reason I suggested PTE is that it doesn't create a video file. To get a good quality picture, you have to use less compression which can make the file huge, or you can reduce the size of the file but sacrifice picture quality. And since the pictures are most likely jpeg (a lossy compression format) recompressing them with the WMV format (more lossy compression unless you use lossless and it will be a huge file)it will degrade the pictures that much more. PTE doesn't compress the pictures any more, it just bundles them in a single file.

It really just depends on what your preference is.

That's why I suggest the 2 other free ones, actually Picasa also makes excellent quality videos for youtube ;-)
