I upgraded to XP home quite awhile back on a machine that had ME as OE. The hard drive finally died so I replaced it. A clean install required me to load my original o/s cd, but did not recognize my restore cd. Now what?

effanjay, as I understand it, your recovery disks were designed to work hand in glove with your old OS. When you replaced the drive, the OS was missing and to put it back requires a new installation, not a recovery.
