lately, my computer has pop-ups appearing despite having a pop-up blocker, i downloaded a 5-7 different types of adware removal, and scan the computer, and a program called Elite toolbar is found in it,i removed it couple of times and restarted computer to find it back in the computer again, my website default has also been changed unwillingy,
can someone give me details to remove this from the computer so as it will never return back? The name of the Hijack browser is Elite toolbar,
thx for ur help, i will refer back asap

Most likely you will have to get rid of it by changing the parameter for your browser to "regedit".
It happent to me once before, so I opened regedit and changed the name of the site I was being redirected to, for the one that I wanted. You can do this by running a search and plugging in the name of the malicious site.
If you do run regedit you must be careful in what you change or remove.
TY!

Like I said before, be careful with this.
click "start"
Click "run"
Type "regedit"
Press "ok"
Regedit window will open
click "edit"
Scroll down to "find"
a search window will appear
type the name of the malicious site
it will look for every instance of it one at a time.
replace it with the site that you want.
Click F3 to find the next one and do the same. Sometimes it will appear more than once.TY!

Although he gave you a detailed way of dealing with that problem, for anyone never being in the registry before it is not wise to just jump in there and start changin g things. Backup the files before you do anything in the registry. One wrong thing done there can cause disasterous problems.
Your issues is that the program doing this to you is intertwined withen your registry and also hidden within system restore.
Before messing around in the registry you might try turning off system restore and going to:
http://www.trendmicro.comand using their free online scanner to see if they can find it and fix it for you as this is what they do.
To turn off system restore, R click on my computer icon, select properties, select system restore tab, then check the "turn off system restore" box.
Just remember to turn it back on by unchecking the box afterwards.

It scans for all of it I believe. But am not really sure as I use it but only to remove the stuff that I have a hard time with. I have always had my system cleaned from all the other garbage be fore I use them.
Go there and read what all it does. I just know that they are good at getting out a lot of the really bad stuff and they are 100% safe to use. Just remember to turn off system restore first and reboot to purge the old files and then go there.IN THE MATTERS OF STYLE,

well, i tried it, nothing found after i scanned with the program, treadmicro,........... but the EliteToolBar kepts appearing with pop-ups, well so is formatting the easier way out ? cause if there's no other way out, that someone can help me with ,i gotta do with formatting

For a forum on only XP this is quite sad. OK a couple things. If you are able to delete this file and it keeps reinstalling itself then it must be in the Startup tab in MSCONFIG.
Start
Run
Type "MSCONFIG"
then click on Startup
and do some research and each intem in there
ESPECIALLY those that have /install and /silentinstall tagged to themAnother extremely easy way of going about this without the poor guy having to jump into a registry is simple download HiJackThis and it will scan your browser and show everything connected to it. BOTH good and bad. I would remove the object that has the link let alone the file attached to it and BOOM done.

The file above appears in two places. Once in teh registry and once in windows\system32. Go to this URL and read about hijackers.

http://www.spywareinfo.com/xscan.php
This one is good because it will find something and give you the option to delete it without any problems.
http://www.pchell.com/pestscan/Scan.htm
The second one will not delete them from your machine unless you buy it. Good though because it will tell you where the spyware is located.lowsky13
