Hi...I am asking this question for a friend since his computer is down but anyway...My friend has a sony vaio laptop with windows xp home edition and a dvd/cdrw drive which all came with the laptop...He recently installed nero(not sure what ver) and when he restarted his C: D: and E: were missing and now he is going to reinstall XP or restore it..I asked if he installed the latest ASPI drivers and if he had the latest version of nero..Can anyone tell me what else he can do before he tries to install it again? And has anyone had trouble with the dvd/cdrw combo drives on sony laptops? All help will be greatly appreciated..Thanks

www.support.microsoft.com q314060 lists easy cd creator but principle is the same need to delete the upper and lower filters and bam your cdroms are back

only install xp compatible burning software
easy cd 5.1.1 or nero 5.5.1
