Help..Getting a Ton of POP-Ups

HELP??????I have a brand new HP 7965 with XP on it.. I have Downloaded KAZAA, AOL.7.0 and PalTalk..Here is the Problem... I keep getting all kind of advertising "Pop-ups" on my screen. They come through Internet Explorer. I am hooked up all of the time thru a Cable Modem..How do I stop all of these Pop-ups from showing up???

try installing one of the shareware/free ware pop-up blocker applications such as AdsOff (available at www.intercantech.com) or Pop-up Stopper (available at www.panicware.com)

My personal favorite that I have been using on both Win 98 and Win XP is "killad". It is a small program written in assembly language and very effective. It can be used with IE, Netscape and Opera browsers. It is so relentless about removing popups, its necessary to tell it to NOT close normal windows that windows uses, such as "My Computer". If you're getting these 'all the time' - even when not actively surfing, you may have downloaded some so-called 'spyware', which is what is popping up those ads. You can download a free utility from http://www.lavasoftusa.com/ that will search out and destroy any such beastie...
