I recently upgraded my PC operating system from Windows 2000 Pro to Windows XP Pro. Clean New Install, out with the old, in with the new, eh? Anyway, XP won't install my Sound Blaster PCI128 Sound Card. I've downloaded the drivers off the Sound Blaster web site, but no go. All it does when I click on executable install file is act like it's going to install, then without warning, the program faults, leaving me with no message in the error box except an exclamation mark, "!", that pops up. I checked to see if XP has those drivers already installed on it's database on my PC, but they're not there either. Anybody got any ideas? Thanks for your replies.

Have you tried removing the sound card from the pci slot? You would then restart the computer, shut down and reinstall the card in the same slot or possibly another slot to see if XP Plug and Pray will detect it as new hardware and allow the installation to work for it.
