Comment:

I have an IBM Thinkpad R50 with an S-video plug-in on it. However when I plug the cable from it to my tv, I get no image/no signal.

I was just wondering is there something that I need to set up on the computers end to tell it to send the S-video signal out?

If not, what could possible problems be?

Thanks for any help.

Matt

Jeremy,

In Display properties...

Display:
1. IBM Thinkpad 1024x768 LCD panel on intel(R)82852/82855 GM/GME
2. Generic Television on Intel (R)82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Control

Those are my two options.

Under Advanced while pluged into the s-video the option for TV is there, should I click it??? Will it disable my monitor?

Thanks

Matt

Jeremy, thanks for the help. I got bold and clicked the TV option. It does disble the monitor but the image did come up on my TV.
I'm not very impressed with the image quality on my TV which is an HDTV. Any way to clear it up a bit or is that pretty much the way it will be?

Thanks a lot.

not a problem. With the quality the problem is when using a tv as a monitor the pixel rate isn't as good as a monitor play with settings abit might help and their may be a advance setting to chose what you want and I said if you stuff up the setting you can always change it back in safemode

I figured it had something to do with resolution differences. I will play with it. Thanks a lot for your help.
