help with sounds drivers

i just reinstalled windows, and now i dont have any sound. i reinstalled the drivers for my sony vaio pcv-rx850 and still no luck or sound. i found which sound card my computer has and i have installed the necessary driver. what am i doing wrong? there is also another unknown device in my device manager, and i have no idea what it could be? what should i do?
