I have a problem with searchforit. It has hijacked my ctrl+enter for IE registry key. I tried restoring my system files, but it reregisters itself. The file name is replaceSearch.dll that replaces itself. I tried deleting this file but it keeps reinstalling. Anyone know how to get rid of this replaceSearch.dll???

I just fought and won this battle....you will need to manually remove this piece of crap from your registry....search on replacesearch.dll in the registry and remove (the parent level) of all offending entries you find. Remove the actual file too. and reboot. You might want to search your registry for sfitb too. (searchforittoolbar) Let me know how it goes...
Yep, I just won this battle. Someone should string up the programmer who wrote this bit of work and fine Searchforit.com for using it. Searching the registry for searchforit is a good idea, because they replaced all of your search commands to their site. So you should reset them to MSN, Yahoo or Google, so you gain control of your search buttons, but this won't correct your problem. To show you that it is in the registry, go to C:\windows\system32 and rename the "replacesearch.dll" to another name like "replacesearch2.dll." After you reboot you will see that your address box will function again if you reset the registry to another search engine. Search replacesearch on the registry and delete that entry line. If you are squeamish about making changes to your registry using regedit, download HackThis from Download.com and use that to replace the infected strings. It works because I just did it yesterday. These guys suck and should be prosecuted!!!! Good luck!
