have I broken something or what? I just built my new computer thats in my sig, and all my older parts except ram, I built another computer and gave to a friend to pay off something. Well I split my ram and let him have 256 of it and I'd keep the 256 of it until Tuesday, which is when I get my 1gb 4400LE.
Well the specs for that computer are as follows:
MSI K7N2G-ILSR motherboard
1x256MB Corsair XMS3200 DDR400
AMD XP 2400+ processor
Maxtor 30 gig 7200rpm diamondback
Cooler Master X-Dream III heatsink(just for effect)For some reason, it cut off last night when we were overclocking it...
I went into bios and changed the multi to 8, and when I got into windows and opened cpu-z it was readin a 16x multiplier....WTF. So I went into bios and figured if I changed it to 9 it might go back, which I did, and it did. I went into clockgen and started upping the fsb from 133 to 137, to 142, to 145 and then the computer blue screened and restarted. I went to reboot and as soon as it turned on it gave me this long beep, the same beep it gave me when I had no ram in it and I just started it up so he could see the lighted fan. Did I somehow fry the ram? I didnt add any voltage to the ram. And the lowest voltage for the cpu was 1.550, so I put it to 1.6 just to be sure the cpu wouldnt crap out, but I couldnt even get over 145fsb and it crapped out on me. Whats teh deal? I've already went through and tried resetting bios, even over night with the power supply turned off, and nothing......
