Before you do anything, download all the XP compatible drivers that you'll be needing - chipset, video, sound, network, wireless, SATA, etc. - & burn them to a disc or copy them to a USB flash drive. Assuming you a SATA HDD, you're going to have to create a new XP disk with the SATA drivers slipstreamed into it. XP will NOT install without the SATA drivers. Once you have the drivers & have created the new disk, simply boot off it & follow the instructions.
