Windows XP won't boot! First symptom: corrupt display upon boot before POST. I thought at first this was a hardware problem, so I had my CPU, mobo, and video card replaced. Second symptom: POST okay, Win XP boot screen, then Win XP screen "autocheck not found...", the blue screen with stop message, then reset. Third symptom: Boot okay, I press F8 and try booting any of the Safe Modes. A bunch of files or drivers are loaded into my primary partition or something, then system resets and continues its madness. The following 4th and 5th symptoms occured after I left my computer cold for an hour. Fourth symptom: POST okay, then message "ntoskrnl.dll corrupted or not found" I press a key and system resets. Fifth symptom: POST okay, then message that another file with unknown extension (which I forgot to note) corrupt or not found. Message says to use Setup CD and press R at first screen to start repair process. I press a key and system resets.
Typically I usually get the Autochk.exe not found message, which loops eternally until I mercifully cut the computer's power. The 4th and 5th symptoms occured after I left the computer off for an hour. The ntoskrnl.dll message has occured before but it went away after a reset.
I was stupid and didn't create a ASR disk nor did I backup anything on my computer. I've tried creating an Emergency Boot Disk. I've used the recovery console and tried FIXMBR and FIXBOOT. Safe mode has no success. My Windows XP setup does not show a repair option. I've cleared the CMOS. Chkdisk doesn't show anything unusual, which I take it means Autochk.exe is in the right place. The recovery console shows that there is a partition with Windows installed on it, although when I tried Win XP setup, it didn't recognize the partition.
I suspect that since almost all my computer was replaced within the last 3 weeks, it's a hard drive problem? Although the display problem still occurs, and that's before POST. Possibly some kind of virus? Although my AV software is up to date and didn't detect anything. Maybe the hard drive is just corrupted or even physically damaged? Could it be the RAM?

Question for you ??
The parts that werre rpelaced were they of the same brand and model as the previous ones ??
If not the system will not boot !!!
The ahrdware drivers that you have in the os may be dfferent, and at times you may not even get safe boot eather.
I sugest you drop in the XP cd and do a realod of the OS when you get to the point where xp asks you if you wish to install from the existing installation folder select yes.
This way only the operating files will be replaced, and you will not loose data that you mkight need.
Once done do a backup of what you need, thna wipe the entire drive and start from scratch.
Hope that helps
IF IT AINT BROKE, DONT FIX IT

Okay, i'd do so except when I pop in the Windows XP CD to reinstall it, it says that it doesn't recognize the partition or something, although Windows XP is installed on there.
