My mom's laptop is an hp pavillion. It has windows xp. Not too long ago she had the blue screen of death and she ran chkdsk and that fixed it for awhile. But now when she turns it on, it goes to the load screen, and then instead of turning on, it goes to the blue screen and says a problem has been detected and windows has shut down to protect your computer. Beginning to dump physical memory, physical memory dump complete, and then it reboots and does the same thing over and over. I had her try last known good configuration, chkdsk, fixboot and also had her try a repair installation with the operating systems cd. Hope someone can help.

(sorry about the product box, couldn't figure out how to get it to work, thanks)

Also, she hasn't installed anything new.

Sorry it's been so long. I had her do that and it says, "

A problem has been detected and windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

Page_Fault_IN_Nonpaged_Area

Then it gives the normal instructions, to restart, check installations all that.

Technical Information:

***STOP: 0X00000050 (0X80087000, 0X00000000, 0XFF9C896C, 0X0000000)

Then it says, beginning dumping physcial memory. Physical memory dump complete. Contact your system administrator, etc.

Thanks

... download this >> memtest extract the "iso" from the zip file and make a cd from it.

... boot up with the cd made from the iso image file

burn iso free software

... and see if the memory is ok ... first of all!

... post back when done
