Lol Orange, have alook around on the net for magical jelly bean key finder, and see what else may have changed , you may find an easy way of replacing your name and key back to your rightful self if u look. dunno how they did it, if u find out let us know. system restore wont change it back
as Tbird points out if they have done that then nothing else is secure on your pc so may as well find out how. :0

I reinstalled XP Pro last week because of something very similar.
I got the same little message when I reinstalled PowerDVD, so I ran a trojan check. Sure enough I had a trojan. Unfortunately, I couldn't pinpoint what it was - my virus siftware just said trojan.
I just did a fresh install of XP. No more problems.

Well, I just did a fresh install of XP and every things is cushty, but i did run into the msblasts.exe as soon as i re-connected myself to the Interent - easily enough I patched it up.
So I think what it originally was, was perhaps a program I downloaded with an attached file that caused my registration details to be changed - I looked in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion and noticed the changes, so I cvhanged them to me and rebooted but still nothing - that is when I just did a fresh Install of XP.
Summary: Thank you Scott and Rick for your help. The problem started by me removing useless programs I had on my machine. I don't know if this was the cause of this VDExt800.dll now becoming sort of invisible ...
Summary: i found a hidden folder on my c drive, any help what this is good for would be appreciated. here is what I found: Folder name: system.sav inside more folders, for example cia notepad? a few excerpts ...
