It's adware, not a virus. Regardless, uninstall KeenValue using the Add/Remove Programs utility in your control panel.

Please use the "Alert Me" button in the top right hand corner of this post if I can assist you further.

many thanks wesley, this may seem odd but, it does not
appear in the list of programs in the add/remove programs area, anything else I can do to identify?
appreciate it!

Copy and paste the link below into your address bar and hit enter. It is Spybot Search & Destroy. It's a freeware program and probably the best one available for removing Spyware and Adware, free or other wise. Install this and run it, make sure to use the update feature in the program to get the latest defintions before running. I'll bet ya a hundred bucks that's not the only Adware or Spyware it finds on your PC. Let me know if I can do anything else for you.

Just to add to Wesley instructions after your done running SpyBot go to the site below and run SpywareBlaster, this prevents the garbage you just removed from being reinstalled at a later date.

Keenval is becoming increasingly difficult to stop. I had it, and AVG removed it. My friend has it and has the same problem that it cannot remove the files. Spybot can't find it, and I can't find it with regedit. I read another page that said it is in a hidden folder. I am at a loss.

I just got rid of the keenval trojan myself. I run lavasoft adware 6 everytime I start my computer. I am going to try the program you suggested instead. I get alot of trojans for some reason. I never had this problem with my other computer. I use a Dell now with XP. Why am I getting them all the time with this computer? Is there any way to prevent from getting them at all?

Trojans mostly come from downloading off of Kazaa. Spybot is currently the best protection against them. Not only does it remove them, but prevents them from coming back, and it's free. Keep in mind that all anti-virus and spyware programs are always one step behind the people creating the trojans, so constantly update.
