Help to stop OS choice at Startup

Microsoft Windows xp professional with s...

Specs: Windows XP
When I start my PC I now get a black/white screen asking me the following:

Select operating system to start

Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
Microsoft Windows XP Setup

Use Up or Down Arrow Keys to Select

Q: How can I stop this?
I have tried going to My Computer > Properties > Advanced > Startup & Recover Console > Settings > EDIT.

The Boot.ini file looks like this......
[Boot Loader]
[Operating Systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect
C:\$WIN_NT$.~BT\BOOTSECT.DAT="Microsoft Windows XP Setup"

I tried removing the last line C:\$WIN_NT$....etc, but doing this didn't stop the behaviour.
(Wasn't sure about removing Line 3 as well, so I left it! )
Instead it simply asked me to choose between

Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
Windows (Default)

Any/all help appreciated.

Ignore previous post. All resolved now.

Did this in a step-by-step way as follows:
1) my computer > properties > Advanced > startup & recovery > EDIT
I took a safe copy of the current boot.ini file and mavoed it to the desktop

2) i then changed the 'default' OS using the drop down.

3) As it still worked, I then went back to the recovery console, and used EDIT.
the boot.ini had changed to indicate the 'Default' os...
I toook a safe copy of boot.ini, then manually removed the last line (2nd choice of OS)

Then Re-booted again.
BINGO...aall works now.

Thanks to all others who had posted on here with similar problems..
.. a bit of reading goes a long way ;-) thanks
