I want be able to define a trusted area in my firewall that includes all addresses of the following range:
192.168.0.0->192.168.255.255
how do i specify the ip address / subnet mask for the above range?
I tried 192.168.0.0/255.255.0.0 but it doesnt seem to work.

what kind of firewall are you using. You may have to do 192.168.0.1/ 255.255.0.0 but I believe the way you had tried is correct maybe a syntax error.

I believe the way you set your first attempt was not a valid "range" of IP addresses. A valid range has to be within the same set and 192.168.0.0 to 192.168.0.255 would be the limit of that range. The address 192.168.255.255 is in a completely different set
I used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another so please feel free to ingore this.
