Hi,
My mom uses WordPerfect 5.1 for legal transcripts. Her old printer stopped working and she replaced it with a Brother HL-2070N Printer. The printer was installed to the computer and she's able to print from any program except from WordPerfect 5.1. So we downloaded the printer driver for that printer from the Corel Website and followed the instructions found on this page: http://www.columbia.edu/~em36/wpdos...
as best we could to instal the printer driver in the WordPerfect printer directory. After installing driver in the directory, and turning WordPerfect on to look at the list of printers, we still couldn't find the Brother HL-2070N printer on the list. After hours of trying to get the driver installed and the printer to print from WordPerfect, we finally got the printer to work using the DOS driver, but the transcripts' documents are printed messed up with line numbers missing, margins messed up and half the document on one page and the other half on another page. We don't know what to do to fix this. My mom is behind on her work and need to be able to print ASAP. We need help to fix this. Please if anyone can help us, please help! We would really appreciate it.
Thank You,Sonia

Call Brother. The printer is under warranty and they get paid to fix this problem.
It is probably a simple fix. Trust me, it is worth calling them. I have done computer support for over 24 years. Get it from the manufacturer whenever you can.
Brother printers are awesome but they are as stuborn as a mule.

Has your mother previously been using WP5.1 under WinXP without problems?
Does she need to run it under a compatibility mode?
WP5.1 was designed to run under much older OSes. I would guess you may need to emulate one of the printers on the list.
Contact Brother for answers on how to get the printer to work, if it is possible.
