I have a A open DVD CD rom writer. any idea why it will NOT read any copied cd's? It seems fine reading originals?

Hello Alan: Sorry I am not able to offer more specific advice but can say this: Certain brands of CD writers are not always good about reading discs created on another type of drive--regardless of the quality of the media. What I can say is that if one buys a product in the price ranges and class of Plextor they will usually have no other problems. I've also had good luck with high end HP drives--but have seen many issues with the less expensive stuff. And, forget about SONY, but that's only my experience. Good Luck!
