Hi, I recently installed a simplified chinese encoding pack into IE 6. When I installed it, it said to put my windows home edition xp cd into my cd rom drive. And then it installed ALL langauges encoding into my IE ranging from Arabic to Vietnamese WITHOUT even asking me if I want to install ALL of it. Now I can't seem to delete it. I went to control panel then to language settings, it doesn't work either. It won't let me uncheck the boxes. I went to program files/internet explorer folder and went to IESETUP.CIF so that I could uninstall the language packs but it won't open. It keeps opening as an easy cd creator program or as an internet explorer webpage document. I uninstall Easy CD Creator 5 and the setup open as an IE Webpage. I could see all the text in it about uninstalling settings in IE but I just can't open it in the correct format. Please help as this language install pack took up more than 500mb of my harddrive. Do email me. Thank you so much.

Hi LozerBaby, thank you for your time. It doesn't work. The control panel doesn't have the options to remove the language files. I've been desperately trying to find answers to remove the files manually for hours but still no luck. I even tried editing the 'hide' options in one of the files (Can't remember what the name is. it starts with s. I remove the 'hide' text in it. A few more programs options for me to remove in the add/remove panel but still no IE 6 language remove options. And as you know, I can neither uninstall nor reinstall IE6 in WindowsXP. And as for your inf file option, could you please tell me more about it? I have no idea what it is. Thank you so much for taking your time to write back to me.

the inf file is located in your c:/windows, you have to goto it then change the folder option to show hidden files then you'll see the inf folder go in to it a look for (file name) sysoc open it and you'll see other hidden files in there.Take the hide out of each on seperatly and look in your Add/Remove in the add/remove Windows Components for the file plus you can get ride of messenger pinball ect if you wish. You might have to restart the add/remove each time but you may find it here,if not jus' put the hide back so you can keep hiden if you don't wish to remove that one anytime. Also try re-installing IE6 to see if it will get rid of the problem.Try these links also
