Do you have a router and is DHCP enabled in it? Is it wired or wireless? Also have a look in your Hosts file. c/windows/system32/drivers/etc Open the hosts file with notepad You can safely edit this file to delete everything below the line : 127.0.0.1 localhost
Save and exit
You may want to create a backup of the hosts file first

From the command prompt, type "ping www.google.com" without quotes, press enter, and see if you get a reply.

he used the command prompt and used "ipconfig/flushdns" to purge the DNS cache, until it finally reset, then used "ipconfig/displaydns" to see if it worked.
