Hi there,

Can anyone advise me on this problem.

When I tried to run networking commands like IPCONFIG, PING, NETSTAT, etc. in the DOS prompt on Windows XP Professional, it always say that these are unknown commands. Why is it so? Anyway to activate them?

Even by running WINIPCFG fails to work too.

Thanks!

Try going into a dos console (command prompt) by going to start/run and typing command. This should bring up the dos console, then use the commands like ping and ipconfig.

On winipcfg, it no longer exists in windows xp. You only have ipconfig. You can download a program, i forgot where called ntipcfg that looks very similar to windows 98's winipcfg.

Good Luck

Rather than going to Run\command do a run CMD much more robust.
