help old account password problem

I install xp create 3 account with password
the system crash after one week I had to reinstall eveything but the system don't recognise the old 3 account now under documents and setting I have the 3 old folder but when I click the access is denied ple tell me how I can restore everything or I lost all my message and file thank you

Although you still have the 3 users folders, they are not the same users.

Windows uses a unique number each time you create an account. The rights to files created in the users 'home' directory are to that unique number, not the username.

The only way I can think that you can do this is to use the Administrator user, copy the files to a public directory, login as the new user and copy the files back to the users directory. You make have to take ownership of the files, too.
