Hi. I've been getting random DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL BSOD's lately (I noticed that they occur when I'm playing music on Winamp, downloading with BitComet and chatting on Trillian.
I tried running "sigverif" and it told me that tcpip.sys and ntvdmd.dll are not signed. Could you tell me what these two files do and if they could be responsible for the crashes?
The related logs in Event Viewer for the crash is as follows:
System Error:
Event Category: 102
Event ID: 1003Error code 000000d1, parameter1 ffffffeb, parameter2 00000005, parameter3 00000000, parameter4 ffffffeb.
Save Dump:
Event ID: 1001
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x000000d1 (0xffffffeb, 0x00000005, 0x00000000, 0xffffffeb). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\MEMORY.DMP.
I haven't installed any programs recently or used Windows Update prior to the BSOD's. Any other help/advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated.Thanks.

These two files are core system components. If they've been corrupted or replaced with different versions, just about anything can cause BSODs.
Put in your Windows XP install disc and type sfc /scannow in the Run box. This will check all system files and replace any "wrong" ones it finds with the defaults from the install disc.
That should fix your problem,
James
