I have working drivers installed for my SBLive Value (CT4830) well device manager says there is no problems and the device is working properly. I have tried several drivers, some working some not but under Control Panel/Sounds & Audio Devices I cannot select any playback device, in the pull down menu appears 'No Playback Devices' I have also tried another sound I have laying around(CT4810) and it does the same thing. appears working in device manager but I cannot select any playback device, thus no sound. can anyone help me please?

I was told the problem was having digital speakers that needed to be analog. For $39 I just bought new speakers and saved myself a lot of grief!

Double click the volume control in the taskbar and get the advanced settings. Enable 'Digital Output only' and the soundcard will output to your digital speakers
