please help me!!
My pc is shutting down with the same problem as described by msblast worm.
However none of the variants can be seen in the processes running. the msblast removal tool does not find anything. Regedit closes before i can get to the right place. Downloaded a windows patch but it closes before it completes.
Can anyone help me out.
much appreciated

As soon as Win loads hit Ctrl+Alt+Del to bring up Task Manager then click on processes and end any process you suspect. Download, update then run Spybot S&D and Adaware. Install the Win patch (have you not done this already?). Update your anti-virus
Good luck

hey ALEX,
downloading anything, or even staying online is a bugger once you've got Blaster.
if you still need to download patches/fixes etc, and are getting kicked off and shutdown before you can get it done, try this:
XP offers a built-in firewall that you can enable for all your connections.
Go to your internet connection and enable the firewall for it. This should allow you to connect and stay online long enough to download the patches and fixes you need.
GOOD LUCK!

Alex,
Did you try running the virus scan or the removal tool in "safe mode"? Worth a try if you haven't.
