i was using yahoo chat voice chat. all of a sudden the the pc lost contact with the microphone. although it was plugged in it didnt work. i tried to use voice recorder that didnt record anything, i was using a headset (mic n headphones) the headphones still work but the mic seems to have stopped working. it just suddenly died. i think it may have something to do with the soundcard which is avance logic. please can you help me with anything.ive checked device manager there doesnt seem to be a problem

It may be a problem with the actual microphone. Try another microphone in the socket. If you havent got another microphone just plug a speaker in and use that as a microphone (this may sound strange, but you really can use a speaker as a microphone!)
