Hey, I really need help on this one. I recently swapped my HP's Celeron into my computer and the problem now is that my computer doesn't boot up. Power and everything is working but nothing on the screen, the bios doesn't even show. Do you guys know what the problem is? The motherboard is a MSI 655 Series.

Hi Arthur,

In the future, please use a more descriptive title for your post. IMHO, people generally pass up threads with titles like "Help me, Please," "I need help," and so forth.

Just to comment:
Static electricity from your body can ruin the
electronic components in computers. Are you
using a wrist grounding strap when handling
boards, and the like??? Here is an example of one:

Man how far folks travel from the original post of the thread. Excellent feed back XpUser.

Not sure why video card is mentioned. Has nothing to do with changing a cpu.

Sure not grounding yourself can be a problem though as long as you touch the case of the pc you are working with you're fine because any charge is equalized. Equalized means no damaging static discharge.

What is most likely here is the Celeron is not supported by your mainboard or you need to set a jumper telling the system its a celeron and at what speed.

So put the working cpu back in the mainboard [assuming you swapped cpus to increase speed] and see if everything works. Then consult your mb manual or download it from the mb manufacturer to see if that celeron cpu is supported and if so what jumper needs to change.

PS most celerons run at less than ram bus speeds thereby slowing your system down not speeding it up which is why I don't own a celeron anymore.

While I used to agree with XPUser, I'm not sure I do anymore. I think curiosity often overcomes the annoyance at a less-than-revealing subject like Help Me!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and as a result, people do open them.
