Hey,

Really weird occurenece. I was using Adobe Premier Pro (7) and after closing down the program, I lost one of my IDE Hard Drives. Under the Device Manager, it shows that the Hard Drive exists however in Computer Managmennt, My Computer, etc the hard drive just doesn't exist. It has 60 GB of files which I would perfer not to lose (NTFS).

I have NAV 2004 installed, if that means anything.

Any ideas?

Device manager- uninstall the drive-reboot and let XP reinstall it.

Try right click My Computer, choose Manage.
Go to Disk Management. click on ACTION at top and choose RESCAN DISKS. Does this help?

The simplest thing to do is just reboot the unit. If that fails, reboot and hit F8 just after the initial DOS screens (Before Windows loads) then select Last Known Good Configuration.

If that fails repost and someone will help you.

Another possible solution is this...
If your system is FAT32, it mite be hidden. Is your system FAT32?

Its looking more and more like it is Bad Sectors, although I don't know.

Orignally I was able to still get into my Operating System however the 2nd IDE Drive, which wasnt responding (F:), wasn't showing. However now I keep on getting the Blue Screen of Death and as it goes to dump the memory, it just continues.

I can F8 into Safe Mode and check the Event Log which says there are BAD SECTORS on F: however I cant get C: back online to get into normal mode.

Any idea?"
