Just a while ago I took my comp and turned it on. It was cold because it was in the truk of the car, but everything else was normal. It was hibernating, it woke up, I was using outlook express, it was trying to get some messages; it was taking long but nothing weird; and then I had a blue screen. I reboot...and nothing happened, I tried again, and again, an nothing. It turns on; shows the dell logo; goes to the next screen, it shows some letter in white -too fast to read!- and then nothing; just a black screen and the hard drive running and running.
I'm able to press f8, but in the ,enu it only offers me the windows normal, if i press f8 again i have the full menu; but if i choose an option from it, let's say safe mode, all that happens is that i return t the orginal ,enu and the option selected is in blue print in the bottom....
and i'm stuck there....
:(
any ideas?????

Kind of hard to tell. Hardware or software could be the cause.
I normally try a live linux cd to see if it will boot.
"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10

If it was in the trunk of the car, I'm assuming at one point the car was moving? Open the case and check all the cables. Something probably got knocked loose.
