Hi. I recently updated my bios to A10 and my motherboard does not recognize my processor. I have a dell optiplex gx1 and wanted to downgrade the bios from A10 to A07 to support a powerleap 1.40ghz processor.This has happened to me before but i downgraded the bios back to A07 but now i forgot how to do it. I downloaded the gx1-a07.exe file from dell but how do i boot it from a floppy disk and downgrade it. HELP !!!!! PLEEZE !!!!!!!!!!!

You do it from a DOS mode by booting up your machine via a DOS startup/boot diskette.

There are tons of related materials covering BIOS flashes -- including Dell PCs -- on the internet. If needed, use Google to conduct a search query.

i found the bios update. the file name is gx1-a07.exe. how do i make it boot from a floppy ???????????
