I do not know how to get rid of an animated graphic file that I downloaded to my desktop. When I right click on it the dialog box is only for the desktop and not the file. It is cute but I am tired of it and want to get rid of it. Any ideas?

It might be a part of a screensaver or theme. Try looking in add/remove programs and see if a screensaver suite was installed. The other place to check would be your display properties and then the Theme tab.

What happens if you left-click on it and press the Delete key? Have you tried deleting it in Safe Mode?

Thanks Jennifer for your post. It is not like a shortcut that is it does not respond to a right click or left click. I can find no way to select it. I guess the lesson learned is to do a system restore each time before you install something.
Still stumped with this. I will not do a reinstall for this but have learned a good lesson....I hope.

Thanks to you all especially Jennifer. I was able to Restore Point to the day before I downloaded this graphic and it is gone now. Thanks again
