What would keep me from viewing Help files in all of my programs when I'm signed in as the XP admin for my PC? I have no problems when looking as a limited user, but in admin I get a "not responding" message and am asked to send an error to MS.

Try making another admin account, swich to it, and delete the one with the problem, because some authoring services of windows are not working, or are not initialised propperly.

Something similar happended to me. It was a corrupt registry entry on my admin account. Norton utilities (I think disk doctor) found and corrected the entry and now it works.
You might be able to use a variety of registry fix programs, but I have only used Norton.
