Help device/cdrom has a bad block

When I am trying to burn a cd my computer just cut off and the only way to turn it back on is to unplug it. The lights remain on but I cannot restart or anything. I check event viewer and it is telling me device/cdrom has a bad block. What should I do ?

You could try it in another comp , to see if it is dead .
