Cannot delete Flash9f.ocx:Access is Denied
Make sure the disk is not full or write protected and is currently not in use.

How exactly are you deleting the partition. It sounds like you are actually just deleting a bunch of files in the partition.

To add to RTAdams89's comment, you don't delete a partition because of a virus. That is like taking a atom bomb to kill a termite nest.

Is the problem a virus or deleting a partition?

Tell us what is going on and we'll try to help.

Imagine the power of knowing how to internet search

This is the third time you have posted the same problem to this Forum. If you were using any of the help provided, this problem would be resolved.

Basically, a NO Brainer!

I have a virus on a partition. Before i restored the computer, accidently creating a second partition, i tried to delete the virus using spybot. The virus would not go away and is still there. i want to delete the partition with the virus.

I was actually using a website i found from google about how to delete a partition.
the website is http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=...

I am very thankful for the help, and do not care if you guys help me find a way to delete the virus or help me delete the whole partition. Thank you

Also I dont know what Dumbob is talking about because i just registered to this website.

Have you tired to delete the partition though the command line?

Start --> Run, type in CMD click ok

type DISKPART at the command prompt.

You should next see the cursor change to

DISKPART>

From here type in list disk
you should see the hard drive listed as 0

From here type in select disk 0
You should see a message that the Disk 0 is not the selected disk.

Then type in list partition, if you have two partitions they should show up Partition 1 and 2. Normally number 1 is the primary. That is where the OS is stored.

type in select partition 2

the message should come back as partition 2 is now selected.

From here you can type in delete partition.

After deletion you can restart and then extend partition 1 by running through the commands above and instead of deleting type in "extend" (without the quotes).

As a warning, MAKE SURE YOU ARE DELETING THE PROPER PARTITION.

If it fails, you will most likely be looking at a reinstall.

The Microsoft article you linked to is for an entirely different issue. This article will tell you how to remove a partition: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/309000

This will only work if the partition you want to delete is not the one Windows is installed on. If Windows is running from the partition you want to delete, you will need to boot off the Windows XP CD, format the disk, and then reinstall Windows. This will cause you to lose all data on that partition.
