Help! Can't get rid of Win32/ Parit

Hi,

I keep getting the message:

"Virus
Virus found Win32/Parite

is found in file

\Device\HarddiskDmVolumes\PhysicalDmVolumes\BlockVolume1\System Volume Information\_restore{3ED0AA8E-AAEA-4F93-9076-AAD46B68B96F}\RP62\A0006918.exe

To remove this virus. please run AVG for Windows"

However, when I run AVG it does not find the infected file. I have done a file search for "A0006918.exe" to remove it manually but I did not find anything. Is this a boot sector problem? Is there anyway to get rid of this? Does it pose a threat?

Your help would be much appreciated.

I had that virus and it killed all .exe files.

Had to rebuild in the end.

You need to disable your system restore. The message you are getting is because you did not disable system restore (like you're supposed to) before removing the virus.
