Hi All,
Was wondering if any one can help me out, I have a few problems with my P.C.
O/S Winxp
851mhz AMd
640mb RAM
Dial up Modem
Problems are
1.When I click on help and support in the menu bar it acts like its opeing but nothing comes up

2.When I click on User A/C I get a dialog box that tells me "Wrong number of arguments or invalid property assignments"

3.When I click on Computer management and select "Local users and groups" it tells me "Unable to access the computer HOME-*******, The error was:Libary not regerstered"

4.Last but not least, when I click on WMplayer it tells me "an internal application error has occured"

Recently had a virus Worm32 KLEZ.G which has now been completely removed and recently installed NAV2002 and Norton utilities2002.
Also recently did sfc /scannow to check that system files were O.K. after the virus attack.

Sorry for the long post but its the only way to describe my problems.

If you can help please post.
Cheers
Alan

You can chek if the WPA is lost.
Start
RUN
type oobe/msoobe /a
The Product Aktivation Screen will come up and may say "Windows is already activated. Click OK to exit. I don't know what it will say if it is not activated.

corrupt file fix
Perform a "Disk Cleanup": Double-click "My Computer" then right-click on your XP drive,
select Properties > Disk Cleanup. Next, perform the following:

1) Open the "Command Prompt" and type: SFC /SCANNOW , and hit enter. (Important: Make
sure there is a space between the 'C' and the ' / ' otherwise it won't work) [SFC = System
File Checker].

(Have your XP CD available since you will be prompted to insert it in the CD drive. The
SFC procedure will take approximately 20 - 30 minutes to complete.)

2) Afterward, perform a Checkdisk (file error-checking and repair procedure).
Open the "Command Prompt" and type: CHKDSK /R , and hit enter and answer 'yes' to the
question and restart your computer.

3) After performing the above procedures, run "Defrag".

Hi Peter,
Thanks for your response.
Have already tried your suggestions, but still the same problems persist.
Now I can't even access the updates site, It just seems to be getting a new problem day by day, I will probably do a reinstall or a re-format.
Will post back to let you know how I get on.
Once again thanks
Cheers
Alan
