kevt123, Go to the link below and download the "Fixswen.inf" file. Save the fixswen.inf file to your local hard disk, right-click on the file and choose install.

kevt123, Have you tried doing a System Restore to the closest date prior to when this problem started? Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore

kevt123, If you still have that reg file that Per recommended in Response Number 1 in this thread try the following:
Open regedit, click on File(at the top)click on Import then find that file and hilite it then click the Open button.

kevt123, Go to the link below and download the "REG File Association Fix" which is a .zip file and save it to your hard drive. Unzip it or extract it. Now open regedit, click on File(at the top)click on Import then find that file that you just downloaded and unzipped and hilite it then click the Open button. This should correct the reg file association and you then could try the instructions in Response Number 11 above. Post back.
I will be leaving shortly but will check back later.

kevt123, I know nothing about the Adwatch Program but does it have a feature to disable it? It appears that this is when all your problems started and I'm surprised that doing a Syatem Restore doesn't solve the problem. I'm just about out of ideas.

YES! - - or at least disable it for the time being - it's probably 'protecting' the registry
