Sorry if I am in the wrong forum.

How in the Henry do you get an icon to accept a private message when you post and get responses through EMAIL???

Why doesn't my computer info (pre-signature) POST? (the info you submit about your system). Everyone else seems to have it on their first post...Am I doing something wrong?

My intention is to have a "private message" option when I post. When I try to contact other members through Private Message, I am not allowed.

I want my puter specs. to be listed everytime I post. I have more than one, so how do I address that issue? Three systems/ 3 Computing.net ID's? Everone else that posts has their computer stats posted.

I am just learning Computing.Net and hate when I can't find an answer on my own.

Whether it be easy as pie or sh*t in the sewer...Just Please explaine it to me...Lucy

Hello,

Only replies have the private message option. This is to prevent problems from being solved via PM (hence not allowing future users to see the solutions). All replies have it, you don't need to do anything special.

You can still send PMs via "MyComputing.Net" no matter what, it's just the PM icon in the post that's disabled for the originator of the thread.

If you're having problems getting your specs to 'stick' in MyComputing.Net once you've reset them, try logging out and back in.

If you've different sets of specs, then you may have to do that for each change - as well, if you access the site from different machines, logging out and in again may be necessary to reflect the latest changes

Thanks, that was a big duh on my part. I do access C.N from two systems and each has it's own browser.

Thanks also for all the replies. They confirmed that I had tried everything I could have tried. I appologize for my posting tone.

Unfrustrated,
Billie

Yeah, it's a little trickier for those of us using more than one machine (or OS or browser)

I'm glad that helped
