I Just recently, purchased an Athlon 1.4Ghz/512ddr ram/Epox-8K7A mobo and after installing everything setting up correctly: I receive a Blue Screen at Windows startup.

Here is the Deal:

Am I not able to simply Take my Hardrive that has WinXP Pro, and insert it into a new system and have it "Auto configure" to "its" new home? :-)/:-(

The "Stop Screen" (blue screen error) says that I need to turn off a virus scanner, or uninstall any new Ide(aka hardrive) devices from my system. Well if I do that,. I HAVE NO OS/thus NO HD to load up ::grin:: ? ;-(

I have already tried to Load up in Safe mode/command only/Last good known Config/Safe with network.

When I tried the "debug" mode, it actually loaded further, and Actually brought up something resembling a GUI but then it reverted to the BSOD.

Any way... Does any one know if booting off the startup/setup disks (1-6) and then running a repair will help?

Any Ideas info... would be Ultimatly appreciated =)

Thanks - Joseph

Try taking everything out except for the video card, motherboard, and hard drive. See if it boots up. If it does, install 1 item at a time until it's complete. If that doesn't work. Run setup from the CDROM, it should just reinstall XP, it shouldn't mess with your programs or personal files at all.

I had the same problem, but found a solution. Boot from the windows XP cd. When prompt to format your hard drive or leave alone, pick the option the reformat your c:\ That should solve your problem.

Heres your solution, take your computer and put it in the box it came with and ship it back to the original manufactor, because YOU ARE TOO STUPID TO USE ONE.
