My computer just started today making a loud annoying noise when you restart it or shut it off then back on... It sounds like a fan im not sure whats making that noise, is there a way to figure it out?

I'd be very careful with that. That was happening with my lap top, and the harddrive ended up crashing. Of course that's just the worst case scenario for your problem. I'd start with the fan, but just to be safe back up all of your important files.

thats a power supply fan. i just remove, open the power supply, peel back the label over the fan motor, 2 drops of sewing machine oil does it

It may not be a "fan" specifically but the bearings inside the fan. Or the mechanisim that lets the ffan spin freely (without resistance) Your best bet is to unplug one by one each fan start up the computer until you notice the noise is gone then you will know which fan it is. If all else fails make sure your GPU or graphics processor or graphics card does not have a fan on it. And if that still does not work maybe your hard drivve
