this is the problem. i get to my desk, and throught the speakers i hear a scratchy sound. in the rythem of a heart beat. i get on the computer and load up a game and the game glitches too. I run the tamkmanager and the cpu % usage goes up and down from 0 to 25%. but nothing on the lists is changing. it seems like its something internal running. i ran nortan and spybot but nothing turned up. thanks for any help. todd

Enter the Device Manager and search for the Sound drivers. Open the properties and see if you can change what Resources are used. Sometimes there are changeable and sometimes that will clear things up. Tomorrow the Stars!

theres definitly something wrong. even if i open up explorer the cpu goes to 100%. if im not doing anything it jumps up to 25 every 3 seconds, but nothing on the list is using it. Im stumped. please help. I can no longer game with it like this!!!!

Bump..... any ideas? still doing it. it doesnt take much of a program to max out my cpu and everything goes slow.....damn gateway!!
