Did the device come with a software/driver disc? Have you installed the software?

I doubt that a USB audio device would be plug-n-play.

Once you have it installed you may need to go into Control Panel and change your default Sounds & Audio Devices settings in order for your system to correctly use the new headset.

The device Installation says "Simply install like any other USB device. Plug the headset into your PC's USB port at anytime. Depending on your system the device may automatically be recognized or it may launch the ADD NEW HARDWARE WIZARD. In this case just follow the instructions on the screen to down load the drivers."
I operate on Windows XP and when I plugged it in no further instructions came on screen. I went to Sound recorder and recorded a short voice file and it played back just fine saying it was operating ok. I can hear the recording on the headset fine. My problems are when I contact a friend on Yahoo Messanger. She can't hear me at all....It was working fine yesterday but went out last night so I bought a new headset today (23rd) and haven't been able to talk to her since. I tried every test I could find and all tested out okay. Sure do miss it as we play alot of games together. FOI I have great sounds from the Pogo games thru the headset. Just occurs when I try to talk to my friend. I really appreciate your help and promptness in answering me. Judy

The chat program you use may have it's own settings for sound device. Since this device is "new" to your system, the chat program configured itself to whatever sound device was present when installed. It will not automatically change just because you plug into a usb port. If the chat program doesn't give you any settings options relating to audio/voice device then you may need to uninstall the program, connect the headset, Update drivers for it using devicemanager, Set it as default audio/voice device then reinstall the chat prog.
