HDD-Less Notebook

I have recently replaced the hard disk in my notebook with a 2GB CF card with an adapter. I am able to install Win XP into it. However, when I try to install other software to it, it is unable to install it. I think the notebook is able to detect that the CF card is removeable drive, and not a Hard disk. Does anybody know how to solve this?

GO into the device manager and search for your device. I know in the disk drives, there is a tab called policies and in that tab there is an option to setup the drive for quick removal. If that option is available for your device then remove it. Good Luck. PS What does CF stand for?

It's a cool idea who IMO has not quite gotten here...
