I purchased a Prostar Laptop about 1.5yr ago w/ Win XP running on a PIII 1.26Ghz w/MMX.
Recently, I installed software for a picture viewer and drivers for a Fuji USB camera. After restarting my machine, I got POST but the machine would not boot any further (I get a blank screen and a blinking curser at top left). I tried to restart my machine several more times (the computer responds to CNTRL_ALT_DEL), but had the same problem each time. The computer does let me in to the BIOS menu, but nothing looks irregular. I can boot from both a disk and CD, but when I try to access the C: drive after a CD or disk boot, I get an error.
I'm afraid I may have a C: drive crash and am at a loss for ideas. I had this problem about 8 months ago after installing a wireless USB mouse/keyboard, but after letting the computer sit for a day, it booted up and ran like there was never a problem.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance-

Hi Mike,
I had a similar problem. The system starts booting up and then hangs at one point and that's it. I unplugged all USB devices, unplugged the power Cable for a few seconds, plugged the power cable back in and restarted without the USB devices. All went fine. Plugged USBs back, all ok ever since. I don't know if this will work with you, it worked for me.Cheers de Peter
