Hi everybody,
My problem is the following: my PC has an ASUS P4PE-X motherboard which doesn't serve SATA harddisks so I bought a 500GB SATA disk because it was recommended to me due to "higher speeds" and I bought also relevant SATA HDD controller with 2 outputs.
The problem is that when I try to install the system (XP) on it the installer doesn't see that disk at all although is recognised by BIOS durig booting procedure.
So I tried once again and pressed F6 to install the additional SCSI controllers whereas I have copied some files from the CD that accompanied the controller on the Floppy Disk.
Though it didn't help much - XP installer recognises the controller files but then says that these files cause some error and the installation process ended. My question is what to do so that I can see any SATA disk as if it were regular ATA drive?
Thanks a lot in advance for any advice.
Zennon

Use the website listed below to slipstream the drivers. You will have to make another xp cd.

The recommender was not correct Xennon. The SATA interface has a higher 'potential' speed. But at this time a hard drive will run at, more or less, the same speed on PATA and SATA.
