Main hdd has a working version of XPpro using FAT32 from the install CD. Before XP, I was in the habit of using old hdds, as big floppies (between home and work). Under XP, I can't read those hdds made under win98 (furthermore sometimes I get the blue screen if even connecting any of those old hdds). Moreover, any spare hdds formatted (FAT32) inside XP, are unreadable by my win98 machine. Please tell me this is a fluke (and, what to do about it). This whole situation is just crippling my way of doing things.

Hi, I read once in a manual that if an HDD is ran in a machine which has Ultra DMA enabled it will not be read by an other machine which does not have that function. I ran into this problem before too, one way I got success in getting any drive installed was by using Disk Manager from IBM, you can get a free version of the program on their site. It works really good.
